The clay has a smooth, workable texture that responds well to hand-building, shaping, and detailing. It maintains structural integrity during forming and offers good chip resistance once fired, making it suitable for both artistic and functional ceramic pieces such as caterware and pottery.

When kiln fired, Rolfes Art Clay produces a durable off-white finish with reliable strength and controlled shrinkage. It performs optimally within standard bisque and glaze firing ranges, making it compatible with most ceramic studio practices.

Although developed as a true ceramic clay, this product is also widely used in nursery and junior school environments as a modelling clay. In these settings, it is often used without firing, allowing learners to shape and create freely. While unfired pieces will not achieve full ceramic strength, the clay remains an excellent educational medium for developing motor skills and creativity.

Firing Guidance
For best results, fire in a kiln within recommended temperature ranges. Maintain peak temperature for approximately 30 minutes during both bisque and glaze firing cycles for optimal strength and finish.

Important Notes
• This is a true ceramic clay, not a lightweight air-dry craft clay
• Air-dried pieces will remain fragile unless fired
• Keep clay sealed to prevent drying out
• Can be reconditioned with water if necessary
